With tropical storm Fay on us, schools are closed Monday & Tuesday. Occational wind and rain, but nothing too bad in Broward County. Started packing up to return to seminary this Thursday.

Prayer for Our New Church
Come Lord, lead our parish on the journey we have begun. Send forth Your Spirit to guide our choices and decisions. Remind us that we are the Church, not bricks and stones, but a community united in faith. May Jesus be our cornerstone, and may our love for You be reflected in all we say and do. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You forever and ever. Amen.

27 new seminarians @ SJVCS, Miami
Today, we got an email from our Rector at St John Vianney College Seminary in Miami, FL. This week starts New Student Experience for new incoming seminarians. There are 27 new guys! That should put our total house count at 61 seminarians … a nice full house! I’ll definitely be praying for them, especially for safety on the FIU Ropes Course and patience on their 4 day Silent Retreat next week. Returning Students are due back next Thursday Aug 21st.

I spent the weekend with some friends in Ocala as well as a beach wedding in Tampa. Did a Petting Zoo called Uncle Joe’s(?) Farm. On the way home, I caught a shot of some skywriting “TRUST JESUS.” — Great weekend

Went with R to see the opera La Bohème at the Carnival Center in Miami, FL. It’s my first opera … pretty good … sad … but good.

Confirmation Mass
Today, I helped alter serve at my home parish of St Bernadette Catholic Church (Hollywood, FL) for Confirmation Mass with Miami Auxiliary Bishop Roman and Deacon Blanco (from St Brendan High School), along with my pastor Fr Dalton, Deacon Lou, and Fr Kris (from Archbishop McCarthy High School). A beautiful Mass for some great kids and parents (some I taught last year in CCD).
