Déjà Vu & time travel
After watching the movie Déjà Vu (with Denzel Washington), I got to thinking about the theory of time travel:
Many in the scientific community believe that backwards time travel is highly unlikely. Any theory which would allow time travel would require that issues of causality be resolved. What if one were to go back in time and kill one’s own grandfather? (see grandfather paradox) Additionally, Stephen Hawking (Homer Simpson called him “Wheelchair Guy“) once suggested that the absence of tourists from the future constitutes an argument against the existence of time travel—a variant of the Fermi paradox.
The more theories I read, including wormholes and traveling faster than the speed of light, the more impossible is sounds. Let’s get real. If the speed of light is 3 x 10^8 m/s or 186,282 miles/sec, how can we get the human body to move that fast?

I'm a former Catholic seminarian (2007-09) discerning the Lord's call for my life. As I blog my discernment, I want to ask WWKD? (what would Kermit do) ... kidding aside ... "What IS the Lord doING?" and "How can I stay more aware of it everyday?" ... our journeys are too fruitful to keep to ourselves ... please share the gifts He graced you with so we can grow together growing the Kingdom, in Jesus name.

ok Catholic kermit man tell me here
what are you saying comment back please..
I don’t have the answer. I’m just presenting the biggest obstacle of time travel — which is — to find a way for the human body to move at lightspeed.
I think most people don’t even understand what “time” really is. I need to do a little more research on time, space and eternity. It may, initially, seem unimportant to our spiritual lives, but I think a better understanding helps us to better grow with our Father. Expect more posts about this soon.
I believe if time travel were possible there would already be people comming back from the future.
I agree that many do not understand what time really is. Sometimes I wonder if time itself is even real or some type of phenomena, or if it was just invented to reference things that happen. Do we even know if time travels in more than one direction? The bible states “In The Beginning” and references the heavens and earth, but does heavens include or exclude other worlds? So we may never know the answer to when “time” as we know it actually begun or when it will end since an “eternity” is supposedly forever. hmmmm
“Time” is not as mysterious as it used to be. Within the past century, we’ve found that since time can be acted upon by external forces like gravity, it is not something theoretical and infinite, but it is “finite.” Time travel is pursued so much because time can be manipulated.
“Eternity,” however IS NOT lots of time … it is outside of time and IS forever. As I posted a blog entry a couple days after this one:
God (eternal) is outside the dimensionality of time altogether. We see time as a series of events, like watching a parade pass by. God uses his ability to be outside of time to send us a message and authenticate it by fullfulling prophecy.
How can the human body move that fast? Indeed! Foolish human (LOL!). How fast do you think you are traveling right now? We can add the sums of the speeds of how fast you are moving. For example: A boat travels at a constant speed of 3 miles per hour. A man on the boat runs forward to the front of the boat at a speed of 1/2 mile per hour. If you use the earth as your reference point than the man is traveling 3.5 miles per hour even though he wouldn’t realize it. The same works for you. You are standing looking at a computer screen on a planet that is spinning a speed between 700 and 1,038 miles per hour (depending how close to the poles you are). The Earth is orbiting the sun at a speed of 67,000 miles per hour. Our Solar system (the sun earth and you) revolve around the galixy at a speed of about 600,000 miles per hour. There is also an unknown factor that has been yet to be measured. The speed that the universe itself is traveling. Even without the unknown variable it is still incredable to know that you are traveling at a speed over 700,000 miles per hour and you had no idea. Chances are that at this moment you may be exceeding the speed of light.
